The Greatest Trade Ever Made:

Billionaire, King of forex trading, George Soros had to face every hardship possible to become the legend he is today. Firstly, he had to change his real name Gyorgy Schwartz to George Soros to escape the wrath of Nazis.

Then somehow his family ran off to England where he worked as a waiter, and railway porter and saved as much as he could to join the London School of Economics and get his PHD.

After this, he landed a job in New York City at a brokerage firm. But he had himself started to fall in love with Arbitrage Trading, especially in currencies. In fact, George was turning into an aggressive trader.

With confidence skyrocketing he started his own fund management, Quantum, in 1970. And then on Sept 16, 1992, made him immortal as he was the man behind the greatest trade ever made in history.

Soros using leverage had taken a short position of 10 Billion dollars on the British Pound as his analysis of British Pound’s devaluation was strong.

On Sept 16, 1992, the pound started to loose value and Soros attacked with full force and by the end of the day he made 1 Billion Dollars profit for his Fund management company. Such was his aggression that day, that Bank of England’s resources almost depleted, which also led to Soros getting the title of “The Man Who Broke The Bank Of England”.

However, with age Soros let go of his aggressive strategies and has turned philanthropist as he had donated 30 Billions Dollars to charity. Nevertheless his Quantum fund management has earned for its clients 40Billion Dollars.
